​​        Janeen's Art Studio and Coastal Garden is open every September for 9 Days for the GOSS

(Geraldton Open Studios & Surrounds)

  and her Solo Art Exhibition showcasing her latest collection of artworks is in September every 2 years.

 Her tranquil coastal garden at Sunset Beach is transformed into a stunning open-air Art Gallery

(Art and Music in the Garden by the Sea) for several days in the spring.

Janeen also runs Winter Workshops from her art studio every year from May until September and hosted her 8th Art in the Garden Solo Art Exhibition from September 16th - 25th September 2023.

Janeen is a Visual Artist living in Geraldton, Western Australia where she has resided for over 30 years.

After completing her Diploma in Art Studies at the Regional College of TAFE in 1988, she had her first successful Solo Exhibition of

Gouache paintings of the Abrolhos Islands in 1990.

A principal theme in Janeen's paintings is the natural environment which includes the stunning flora, landscape and seascape of Western Australia. Her father, a natural history photographer and conservationist, greatly influenced how she perceives the natural world and has had a profound effect on her creativity.

Janeen enjoys experimenting with a variety of mediums including fibre, textiles, printmaking and mixed media but specializes in gouache and acrylic painting. Using a layered technique, paint is applied to the surface by dribbling, splattering, mark-making, mon printing and stencilling before blocking out and over painting. This creates extra depth in her works which

encourages the viewer to look within.

In June 2021 Janeen completed a one month Artist in Residency program at Hamelin Reserve in Shark bay W.A. with Bush Heritage Australia. She had her Solo Exhibition in her coastal garden on October 16th -18th showcasing her latest collection of Paintings and mixed media artworks inspired by her time at Hamelin Station Reserve.

This Exhibition was offically opened by Luke Bayley from Bush Heritage Australia. Janeen had over 300 guests

attend during the 3 days she was open and sold nearly all of her 47 Artworks.

Janeen was a finalist in the Small Business Excellence Awards for a Micro Business in 2021.
