About Janeen ​

Janeen is a Professional Multi Media Artist with over 40 years of experience.

living in the Mid West of Western Australia, she has created from her home Studio nestled

in her tranquil Coastal Garden at Sunset Beach for 29 years.

​

A principal theme in Janeen's Artworks is the natural environment

which includes the diverse flora, wild landscape and stunning seascape of Western Australia.

Her father, a natural history photographer and conservationist,

greatly influenced how she perceives the natural world and has had a profound effect on her creativity.

 

Biannually In September Janeen Showcases her latest collection of Artworks with a Solo Exhibition. 

Her coastal garden is transformed into a stunning open-air Art Gallery

(Art and Music in the Garden by the Sea). 

Her 9th Show will be opening on the 26th September 2026.

 

Exploring and experimenting with a variety of mediums including Fiber, Textiles, Cyanotype, Encaustics and 

Printmaking offers Janeen an opportunity to expand her practice.

 Janeen specializes in  Gouache and Acrylic painting.

Using a layering technique, paint is applied to the surface by dribbling, splattering, mark-making, mono printing, scrafitto, blocking out and over painting.

This creates extra depth in her works which encourages the viewer to look within.

​

In June 2021 Janeen was the First Artist to complete a one month Residency at

Hamelin Reserve in Shark bay W.A. with Bush Heritage Australia.

This residency was followed by a successful Solo Exhibition in her coastal garden

 showcasing the latest collection of 

artworks inspired by her residency at Hamelin Station Reserve.

This Exhibition was officially opened by Luke Bayley from Bush Heritage Australia.

Janeen was a finalist in the Small Business Excellence Awards for a Micro Business in 2021.
